The Mahatma Gandhi College is one of the largest co-educational institution in Bongaigaon district of Assam. It has completed 27 years of its existence, right from the date of its establishment on 10th September, 1995. The college is now a Assam Govt. Provincialized Institution under Provision 4(1) of the Assam Venture Educational Institution (provincialization of Services) Act, 2011 as Amended 2012 and 2013.

The College is committed to maintaining Discipline strictly in the campus under the authority of the Principal. The authority commands the right to impose positive action on the students violating rules of the education department are impairing spirit of educational atmosphere in and outside the campus.
